At the beginning of each summer I make a promise to myself to be more present, to be outside every moment possible, to soak up every last wonderful thing about the season…..anything to get my fill before cold weather strikes again. And please, no “but we had such a mild winter!” responses, if I can’t walk barefoot in my backyard it’s too cold for me. New England winters last too long and summers go by in a New York minute. A summer with bare feet and tan lines, short shorts and bikinis, skinny dipping and days so hot your ice cream melts while you’re eating it. When we were children, the month of August seemed to last forever. Our cousin T would come stay with us for the month and that’s when we made some of our most favorite memories. So, in honor of August, here are 10 enchanting things you can do to make the very most out of the last weeks of summer.
