Enchanted Fall Bucket List

Laughing

I love a good cornfield maze, pumpkin picking, hayrides….but sometimes it seems the only fun things to do this season are for families with young children.  What about those of us without children?  What can we do without feeling like we need to borrow our nieces and nephews in order to participate?  Here is what Chris and I plan to do this fall:

  1. Wine tasting and picnic– There are a bunch of good wineries near us, but you could also grab a few bottles from the store and have your own tasting in your backyard.
  2. Outdoor happy hour– We plan to invite some friends over on a Friday night to have a few cocktails and good food on our patio with a nice fire.
  3. Hike a local mountain– Take pictures of the beautiful foliage!
  4. Take a scenic road trip– We’re thinking about renting a convertible so we can really  enjoy the scenery….we just have to do it before it gets too cold!
  5. Make spiked cider and go on a guided tour of a cemetery
  6. Go apple picking and make your favorite apple dessert- Currently debating if we should invite friends over to share or keep it all for ourselves!
  7. Kayak or canoe down a river–  I’ve always wanted to do this while the trees are a riot of color, I just need to get over my concern of getting wet when it’s chilly out.
  8. Carve pumpkins– I know!  This is something you’d usually do with children, but we are thinking of inviting friends over to have a pumpkin carving contest.  Maybe the prize can be a pumpkin pie or something else sweet?
  9. Make my Autumn Sangria and share it by a fire
  10. Light candles and watch a scary movie
