Our Enchanted Conservatory test kitchen was busy last weekend, trying all different ways to make a Hot Toddy. It was a hardship, but we did it for you. And once we had the cocktails, we needed a fire going in the fire pit. So we tested and we tinkered and these are the favorites…we think you’ll find something you like. A perfect addition to a cozy fall weekend.
Amped-up Classic Toddy
Ingredients (makes 1 serving)
- 1.5 ounces Barenjager
- 1/2 ounce lemon juice (or limoncello….we tried both, some preferred the limoncello, some thought it was too sweet)
- 1 cup boiling water
- Lemon slice and cinnamon stick for garnish
Maple Hot Toddy
Ingredients (makes 1 serving)
- 1.5 ounces Sapling Vermont Maple Liqueur
- 1/2 ounce lemon juice (or orange juice, the orange doesn’t cut the maple flavor as much)
- 1 cup boiling water
- Bourbon Black Walnut Sugar for a sugar rim (from this cute shop: https://www.spiceandtea.com/sugars/bourbon-black-walnut-sugar.html )
Cinnamon Hot Toddy
Ingredients (makes 1 serving)
- 1.5 ounces cinnamon liquor (we used Jagermeister Spice…don’t gag, it tastes nothing like regular Jager…but you could use any cinnamon liquor)
- 1/2 ounce lemon juice
- 1 tsp cinnamon honey (from our favorite honey store: https://savannahbee.com/whipped-honey-with-cinnamon )
- 1 cup boiling water
- Cinnamon stick to garnish
Directions
No matter which recipe you decide to try, mix all the ingredients into a mug and stir. If you try the Maple Toddy make sure you do the sugar rim first!
XOXO
