Festive Friday: Rum Pum Pum Cocktail

It’s December 1st, the holiday season has officially started and I can think of no better time and no better reason, to resurrect this blog. Festive Fridays are back and this year is all about translating traditional holiday desserts into cocktails.

This week is a play on the classic Rum Ball treat, and it doesn’t matter if you’re a world-class baker or, you use your oven to store your shoes, this cocktail is for you. Sip it and get nostalgic for Christmas past or create new memories with people you love. I think I’ll do a little of both.

Rum Pum Pum

Ingredients (makes 2 servings)

  • 4 ounces sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 ounces water
  • 1.5 ounces white rum
  • 1.5 ounces brandy
  • 0.5 tsp vanilla extract
  • Two handfuls of ice
  • Chocolate syrup (for rim)

Directions

  • Add everything (except the chocolate syrup) to a blender and blend, add more ice as needed to achieve a milkshake consistency
  • Dip the rim of your glasses in the chocolate syrup
  • Pour blended mixture into glasses
